Viele Behandlungen werden bei uns in klinischen Studien durchgeführt. Die Vorteile sind:

• Wir können zusätzlich Behandlungen mit neuesten Ansätzen/Medikamenten anbieten, die außerhalb von Studien noch nicht zur Verfügung stehen.
• In Studien werden die Behandlungen besonders sorgfältig kontrolliert und dokumentiert, das erhöht die Sicherheit der Patienten.
• Wir gewinnen so neue Kenntnisse zur Verbesserung unserer Behandlungen auch für weitere Patienten.

Da Studien sehr arbeitsaufwändig sind, arbeiten hier allein bis zu vier Ärzte und drei Studienassistentinnen und Studienassistenten.

Many of our patients receive treatment through participation in clinical trials. Advantages of receiving treatment in this manner include:

• Novel treatment options-in clinical trials typically include the newest, most innovative treatments that are not yet available outside clinical trials.
• Treatments with study drugs are especially carefully supervised and documented in order to ensure patient safety.
• Participation in clinical trials also provides new information that may improve treatments for other patients.

Because clinical trials are highly labor-intensive, up to four physicians and three study nurses work specifically in the clinical trial center.
